Inspired by the Upanishad saying “Naadadheenam Jagat Sarvam” and the philosophy of Maha Dasoha, the department emphasizes the omnipresence of sound (Naad) in the universe. The aesthetic beauty of nature is perceived through sound, reflecting in the melodies of birds, beauty of flowers, and rhythm of life.
Founded under the vision of Poojya Dr. Sharanabasawappa Appaji, the department was initiated to nurture India’s rich cultural heritage. Music and painting were introduced as formal programs to promote harmony and artistic integrity in society.
