The Department of PG studies in Botany, aims to educate students about the promises and challenges of both teaching and research of Botany and allied branches of plant sciences.
With the dynamic and well qualified faculty members of the department focuses on the escalating ease of learning and critical thinking to develop the leadership qualities among the students to excel in academic, industry and society.
The Department offers M.Sc. programme under the regime of Sharnbasva University and also offers different courses spread across the arena of recent and modern developments in plant and allied sciences viz., systematic botany, plant biochemistry, microbes, neutraceutics, genetic engineering, plant diseases and their management, seed technology, tissue culture, molecular biology etc. after the establishment of PG studies in Botany in 2017, so far 6 batches of well qualified students have been dedicated to the nation.
Apart from teaching, the faculty has been publishing papers in Scopus, UGC Care listed peer-reviewed research journals. The department emphasis on laboratory component in the teaching curriculum and research projects. The Department regularly organizes Educational Trips to Industries, Forest, Botanical gardens etc. The Department has been holding various workshops, symposia, conferences and other teaching courses to provide a platform for scientific exchanges. Faculty members are presently collaborating and MoU with leading institutes of the country like Botanic Health Care, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Hingulambika Ayurvedic College., Vision group of Science and Technology (VGST) Major Project was sanctioned in 2023, Student was Awarded with National and International awards.
The main aim of the department is to give the best and dynamic professionals to the society where they can propagate their knowledge and insight for welfare of the individual and other living beings.

Establish collaborations and MoU’s with national and international institutes to learn plant research advancements.
