About Department

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) was established in 2002 under the banner of Appa Institute of Engineering & Technology, Kalaburagi, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. With growing popularity and academic excellence, the department increased its undergraduate intake from 60 to 120 in 2010.

In 2017, the department became an integral part of Faculty of Engineering & Technology (Co-Education) under Sharnbasva University, Kalaburagi, formerly known as Appa Institute of Engineering & Technology. The CSE department offers a 4-year Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) program approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and recognized by UGC under Section 2(f). In 2019, the UG intake was further increased to 180 students in view of consistently rising demand and admissions.

The curriculum is designed in line with industry standards and emerging technologies, and is reviewed regularly by a Board of Studies (BoS) and Board of Examiners (BoE) comprising members from reputed institutions and industries. This ensures students are trained in the latest tools and technologies to enhance their employability in a competitive job market.
