Academic Bank of Credits (ABC)
In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Government of India has launched the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) to empower students with greater academic flexibility and mobility.
The ABC system allows students to:
Customize and modify their educational pathways,
Integrate diverse disciplines,
Seamlessly move across higher education institutions (HEIs),
Accumulate, transfer, and redeem academic credits digitally.
What is ABC?
The Academic Bank of Credits is a digital platform designed to:
Record academic credits earned by students from recognized HEIs,
Facilitate credit recognition, accumulation, transfer, and redemption,
Support flexible, distributed teaching and learning models.
Students with a DigiLocker account can:
Register for a unique ABC ID,
Access a personal dashboard to track their credit progress,
Participate in a choice-based credit transfer system.
